Palacio de Bornos shines in Tim Atkin's TOP 100 D.O. Rueda Report and wins the Value Gran Vino de Rueda award

The prestigious wine critic Beth Willard has awarded outstanding scores to Palacio de Bornos wines in her 2026 tasting of wines from the Rueda Designation of Origin, carried out for the influential report by Tim Atkin MW.
Passionate about Spanish wine, Beth Willard is a key figure in this report. For years, she has worked closely with producers across the country, providing an intimate, technical, and highly topical insight into emerging trends in Spanish wine.
Tim Atkin is one of the most internationally renowned wine journalists. A Master of Wine with almost 40 years of experience, he regularly contributes to prestigious publications such as Decanter, Harpers, and The Drinks Business, and is also co-chairman of the International Wine Challenge, one of the world's most important wine competitions.
In January 2026, Beth Willard returned to Rueda to write her third report for Tim Atkin. On this occasion, she tasted a total of 310 wines from 57 producers, including Palacio de Bornos. In the report, Beth recounts the initial concern of Pilar García, winemaker at Palacio de Bornos, about the 2025 harvest: “The wines were quite homogeneous, but suddenly everything fell into place. The harvest is very good and the wines are now ready to drink.”
During the presentation of the TOP 100 WINES OF RUEDA report at the Wine Paris fair, the winery's latest release, Palacio de Bornos Colección de Familia Sergio Hernández, was awarded the prize Value Gran Vino de Rueda, in addition to obtaining an outstanding score of 95 points. Other wines from the winery that also received excellent scores were Palacio de Bornos Verdejo Fermentado en Barrica y Palacio de Bornos La Caprichosa Verdejo sobre Lías, both with 93 points, followed by Palacio de Bornos Brut Nature, with 91 points, and Palacio de Bornos Verdejo, which scored 90 points from Tim Atkin.
